Today I
have yet another theme to write about. Economy.
Only the
word Economy already bores or gives
the shivers to many people, and it seems as a mysterious, abstract and strange
world. People in the business world surely know more about it, as they have
learnt little by little about its functioning and secrets. But you know what? We’re
not all business people, we’re not all economists. We don’t all have a deep knowledge of how
the economy works, and how to apply it to our own lives. And even less when we are younger, when we
are just starting to live and introduce ourselves in the economical world
And how could we? From where are we supposed to learn about Economy? As far as I know, if Economy is taught at high schools, it’s
only as an optional subject. And in most of the academic studies Economy doesn’t
even exist. So for most people, once they start being independent that will be
the first time in their lives when they come in direct contact with the
economical world. With what tools? Most
of the time nothing, and only if they
are very lucky they have parents of
friends who give them good advice.
So is it so
surprising that the world is in an economic crisis, considering the fact that
most people have no idea about how to
manage their money? For decades the banks been giving money to everyone,
without making people aware about the consequences of borrowing money, without honestly
telling them what a foolish idea it
was to spend more money then you have. But then, of course, the banks only got
richer and richer how more money the people borrowed and how less the people knew. So I can
understand why the banking system was so reluctant to tell the risks of
borrowing money. It’s all about money
and power, I fear.
But well. We’re
all in this now; the economic crisis.
There is no escaping it. But what I really
want to know; if we are already 4 years like this, and there are predictions
that this will go on for much longer, WHY
hasn’t anyone taken more efficient measures to make the people conscious about
the economy, their role in it and how to help overcome the crisis? If we have such great governments, why has NOBODY thought of educating the people?
Because people, that’s it.
If you
expect people to have knowledge about economy and to make all the correct
decisions that impulse economic growth without any former education about it,
then you are plainly stupid! Economics
is NOT an innate knowledge of the human being. Rather, most people are confused by it, stunned, and very easily deceived by people who only too
much want to profit from this lack of
knowledge.
People so
easily ramble on about the economical mistakes other people or nations make,
but hey! It’s because almost no one has received a good education about it!!
This is just so infuriating, realizing this, how we’ve been kept in the dark,
how the government has never invested in teaching us the fundamentals of
Economics. How could people have ever overlooked the importance of a good
education in Economics, in this world that is basically working on Economy?
Honestly,
why not teach Economics at high
school? Subject like biology or technology are not always as useful to
everybody, but Economics IS! If you’re
planning to live, then you will
encounter economics at some point in your life and never get rid of it.
There are so many ways to better the world, so
many ways to overcome the crisis. But I thought other people were thinking up
solutions. Come on! It can’t be that
a 20 year old student thinks up something that thousands of politicians haven’t,
right? Because it’s EDUCATION, dear people, that is the
solution to EVERYTHING. To the economical crisis, the environmental problems,
the social problems, simply everything.
WHY isn’t there more investment in educating us, people? Why are we only taught mathematics, languages and a
few sciences at school, but not how to
live in the modern world?
I believe,
if governments are really for
us, the people, the nations of the world,
that they should start thinking up educational programs tomorrow. With every
year that passes only more people lack
knowledge of how to live in this world, of how to be sustainable in all aspects
-economically, socially and environmentally.
What
benefits are there to keep the people uneducated? There are so many benefits
from educating everyone, so there must be a heck
of a reason why no government has ever invested in this.
Well... it's an interesting theme. Really worth considering for everybody. Because it affects us, all of us.
Hoy tengo un nuevo tema sobre la cual escribir. La Economía.
Sólo la palabra economía
ya aburre o da escalofríos a mucha gente, y parece como un mundo misterioso y
abstracto y extraño. La gente en el mundo de los negocios seguramente saben más
sobre ello, ya que han aprendido poco a poco sobre su funcionamiento y sus
secretos. Pero, ¿sabes qué? No somos
todos empresarios, no somos todos economistas.
No todos tienen un conocimiento
profundo de cómo funciona la economía y cómo aplicarlo a nuestra propia vida. Y
menos aún cuando somos más jóvenes,
cuando apenas estamos empezando a vivir y nos presentamos por primera vez en el
mundo económico
¿Y cómo podríamos?
¿De dónde se supone que vamos a
aprender sobre la economía? Por lo que yo sé, en el caso que si que se enseña economía en las
escuelas secundarias, es sólo como materia optativa. Y en la mayor parte de de
los estudios académicos la economía ni siquiera existe. Así que para la mayoría
de la gente, una vez que empezar a ser independiente, eso será la primera vez
en sus vidas en que entran en contacto directo con el mundo económico. ¿Con qué herramientas? La mayor parte del
tiempo, nada, y sólo si son muy
afortunados tienen a padres o amigos que les den buenos consejos.
Por eso ¿es tan sorprendente que el mundo está en una crisis
económica, teniendo en cuenta el hecho de que la mayoría de la gente no tiene ni idea acerca de cómo administrar su
dinero? Durante décadas, los bancos han dado dinero a todo el mundo, sin concienciar
la gente sobre las consecuencias de tomar dinero prestado, sin que honestamente
los bancos les dijera qué idea más tonta
que era para gastar más dinero de lo que ganas. Pero claro, por supuesto, los
bancos sólo se hicieron más y más ricos a medida que la gente tomaron más préstamos
y cuanto menos ellos sabían. Así que
puedo entender por qué el sistema bancario era tan poco partidario de explicar a la gente sobre
los riesgos de los préstamos de dinero. Todo es cuestión de dinero y poder, me temo.
Pero bueno. Estamos todos
en esto ahora, la crisis económica. No se puede escapar de ella. Pero lo que realmente quiero saber, si estamos ya 4
años en esto, y hay predicciones de que esto va a durar mucho más tiempo, ¿POR
QUÉ nadie toma medidas más eficaces para hacer que las personas sean conscientes
de la economía, su papel en ella y cómo ayudar a superar la crisis? Si tenemos
esos grandes gobiernos, ¿por qué NADIE piensa en educar a la gente?
Si realmente esperas que la gente tengan conocimientos sobre
la economía y sobre tomar las decisiones correctas para impulsar el crecimiento
económico sin educación anterior sobre ello, entonces es simplemente estúpido! La economía NO es un
conocimiento innato del ser humano. Por el contrario,
la mayoría de las personas se confunden
con ella, y son muy fácilmente engañados
por personas que sólo quieren demasiado a sacar provecho de esta falta de conocimiento.
Hay personas a quien les gusta mucho quejarse sobre los
errores económicos de otras personas o naciones, pero sabes qué?! Es porque
casi nadie ha recibido una buena educación al respecto! Esto es tan
exasperante, dándose cuenta de esto, ¿cómo nos han mantenido en la oscuridad,
como ha podido el gobierno no invertir en enseñarnos los fundamentos de la
economía? ¿Cómo puede ser que la gente se han olvidado de la importancia de una
buena educación en la economía, si es este mundo que se funciona básicamente gracias
a la Economía?
Honestamente, ¿por qué no
enseñar economía en las escuelas secundarias? Asuntos como la biología o la
tecnología no siempre son tan útiles para todos, pero la economía SI! Si estás
planeando vivir, entonces te encontrarás con la economía en algún momento de tu
vida si o si y nunca te liberaras de ello.
Hay tantas maneras
de mejorar el mundo, tantas maneras de superar la crisis. Pero pensé que otras
personas estaban ideando soluciones. ¡Vamos! No puede ser que una estudiante de 20 años inventa algo que miles
de políticos nunca se lo han pensado, ¿no? Porque es la EDUCACIÓN, gente
querida, que es la solución a TODO. A la crisis económica, los problemas
ambientales, los problemas sociales, simplemente
todo. ¿PORQUE no hay más inversión en la educación de nosotros, la gente?
¿Por qué sólo nos enseñaron
matemáticas, idiomas y unos pocos ciencias en la escuela, pero no cómo de vivir en el mundo moderno?
Creo que, si los gobiernos son realmente para nosotros, las personas, las naciones del mundo, entonces deberían
empezar a pensar en programas educativos mañana.
Con cada año que pasa solo más gente carecen
de conocimientos de cómo vivir en este mundo, de cómo ser sostenible en todos
los aspectos-económico, social y ambientalmente.
¿Qué beneficios están ahí para mantener a la gente sin
educación? Hay tantos beneficios en educar a las personas, así que debe haber
una enorme razón por la que ningún
gobierno ha invertido en esto…
En fin, es un tema interesante. Algo que todos deben considerar. Porque afecta a nosotros, todos nosotros
