Get out of your comfort zone, and lose yourself in Nature!!

Don’t you ever have a feeling of restlessness? A feeling urging you to get out, explore, experience, live.

I believe that for most people, if not all, it is fundamental to once in a while get out of our comfort zone, and get lost in the big beautiful world. I say comfort zone, because that’s where most of us reside the biggest part of our lives. It’s the place where all is guaranteed: food, home, money, security. It consists of the limits we ourselves create to get a feeling of comfort and being protected.

But it’s like living only half. Since when does someone fully live whilst remaining forever in the comfort zone? Since when does anyone get the feeling of being truly alive if you never dare to challenge yourself, to push your boundaries, to take the risk, and in the process, find your true self?

In the last few years I have been on different journeys, and especially the last two times have been incredibly mind-opening and boundary-pushing. It isn’t always nice nor fun to get out of your comfort zone. You encounter a lot of personal limitations, prejudices, and weird stuff you never knew you possessed. You get tired faster, as you learn so much. You get confused because you have to redefine who you are.

But the experience is worth it. You get a better idea of who you are, in good and bad times. You get the opportunity to change the things you don’t like about yourself. You feel alive. You live experiences you’ll never forget.

Don’t you just love being alive? But… are you alive, consciously, fully, completely alive? You should ask yourself that question once in a while. Because it’s only too easy to fall into a waking sleep, and miss out the most spectacular moments in live, which at the same time we normally consider so ordinary.

Personally, I cannot wait until the next time I can get out, into the wild. I cannot wait until I can again measure myself against the great mountains. To climb a mountain, is to learn to be humble, and at the same time have endless faith. Climbing a mountain is pushing boundaries, its suffering deeply at times, but knowing that, once you’re there, you enter into the world of the mystic, of the spiritual, because, dear reader, on top of the mountain the divine exists in all its glory. On the top it is where you fall in love with life, and inevitably, with the mountains.

“You don’t really conquer a mountain. You conquer yourself. You overcome sickness, and everything else – your pain, aches, fears – to reach the summit”

“Mountains are not stadiums where I satisfy my ambition to achieve, they are the cathedrals where I practice my religion.”

"Each fresh peak ascended teaches something."

"I love to think of Nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through
which God speaks to us every hour, if we only tune in"

“The mountains are calling and I must go.”

Losing an animal friend

Today I’m going to write about something that might not be so cheerful, but is certainly a part of life; death.

To be more specific; the death of my best furry friend, my dog. Some people will say it was just a dog, that grieving over a dog is not comparable to grieving human death. But he was part of the family, for over 8 years, and his death was too early and too sudden.

The most difficult part of losing a living being, who was such a big part of my life, is that he will never come back. I can adopt a thousand dogs, and no one will ever be like him. There isn’t a single dog in the world who has the same beautiful eyes, the incredible capacity to be the best of friends. No one will ever make the same happy barking sounds again when I come home, nor sit by my side in difficult times.

He was the best of friends, a loyal companion, a living being who gave so much joy, laughter, love and peace.

Never shall I say that an animal is not capable of loving, of caring, of being an emotional and intelligent being. Having lived so many years by his side has taught me how amazing it can be to love another living being unconditionally.

Never againNever again will he sit on my feet while I study, never again will I be able to embrace him while sitting in the sun. Never again can I laugh about his pranks and intelligence. All the never again’s, all the small things, all the thousands of memories…Like a mantra it keeps going on in my head.

It leaves me behind in sadness, with an emptiness so big you can’t believe it’s possible for 17 kilos of fur and intelligent eyes and limitless energy to leave such a void.

Never again is a long time. It’s too long. It’s too difficult to imagine. But that’s how things are, that’s the way life is. That’s the risk of loving another living being with all your heart.
But you know what? I would do it all over again. I would love another dog just as much, care for it just like I cared for him, because there are many, many dogs out there that deserve to live happily and in safety. Even though it means that eventually I will lose them.

All I can say to lighten up is that we gave him the best possible life. Full of freedomlovecare. And he lived healthy until his last hour.

I want to add some quotes, to celebrate the endless love, joy and peace other living beings can bring into our lives.

"Dogs have a way of finding the people who need them, Filling an emptiness we don't even know we have."

"When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving much advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a gentle and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares."

“Grief is so painfully real, regardless of its origin. The love of, and attachment to, an animal friend can equal that of human relationships. Likewise, the loss of an animal can be just as devastating.”

"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened.”

The greatest lesson I have learnt from this? Live as if someone left the gate open!! :)

The mind and the soul / La mente y el alma

My thoughts often leave the physical realm and start meditating about more spiritual aspects. Like 2 days ago, many subjects came to my mind, and have taken form thanks to communicating with my dearest companion.

In first place, we were watching the movie about Gandhi. I must say that he is a human being I greatly admire, and love, for the wise words and teachings that he has given to human kind. And not only him, but hundreds of other people like him, known and unknown by me, but whom I all send my gratefulness for having existed.

But the movie also brought me sadness, because of the violence, the ignorance and ager of men. I am only 20 years old, but nevertheless I believe that in some way I understand the pain a mother feels when her children are fighting each other, for I feel the same hurt and sadness about all human being suffering and inflicting suffering, whilst knowing that there is a path of peace and love. Let me say; it brings me sadness, because things like violence often come as a shock to me as I see violence as such an anti-natural thing. But despite initial sadness, I still find joy in my heart. Joy, strength and love. Because now more than ever I see the need of it: without strength in my soul, I would never be able to fulfill my dearest wish: helping others.

There are certain actions, like violence, that hurt me. Not physically, nor mentally. No. it hurts ME. With “me” I refer to my soul, to the one I truly am, to the entity that knows, guides, and learns. I am a very sensitive person, so maybe I perceive these things easier, but when I do something that is not good for me, or for others around me, I feel that I’m hurting myself. And I’ve got quite some experience on that. For a period of time I have treated myself in such way that after some time I was despairing hopelessly, because I felt so much hurt inside me. And now I finally understand where all that pain came from: I was perceiving the clearest possible signal from my soul about that what I was doing was wrong, harmful, and leading me further and further away from joy and love.

Nowadays many people live in ways that is harmful to them, although they themselves would never like to admit that it is harmful to themselves (or to people around them). There are so many examples, and even with just a few I would already be writing many pages to illustrate the complexity and consequences of it.

But I would like to say to you, dearest reader: have you ever felt a twinge of pain somewhere near your heart when you have done something that is not beneficial to you and to others? If you have, maybe I should congratulate you, because you are already somewhat conscious about the signals your soul is giving you.

Most people at this moment live too much in their world they constructed, made up by their rules, and governed by their mind. Well, let me tell you this: the mind is our tool to cope with the world as it is, in order to survive on this planet and to process all the information we perceive physically. But I am not my mind. I am something much more. I am a soul. Just like you. You are a soul, in a beautiful body which is like your transportation vehicle permitting you to enjoy your journey on earth. But your problem, as well as mine and as well as that of many others, is that our mind runs off with us, and tries to govern us with what we call logic, but which is always a subjective based knowledge. Your mind cannot always tell you what is best for you. It is your soul who will tell you that, once you have told your mind that it has done good work for today and that now it is time for you to be your true self, and time for your soul to guide you with an intuitive knowledge that really does exist, if only you are silent enough to listen to yourself.

Dear reader. I know this all sounds very… spiritual, and if you are a proud unspiritual-atheist human I know it will be a hard message to capture. But… I believe that little by little it is time to awaken from our close-minded world, and to develop ourselves to our maximum capacities. That is what I believe, after years of thinking about all this.

Quite funny really, that I believe in spirituality and such whilst I have always considered myself a true person of science. Maybe I’m not so much a person of science, but rather a person of soul and truth.

No. Me duele a MÍ.

Living / Vivir

How long, how very, very long is a human life (for a human then, of course, comparing with the Earth our lifespan is nothing). Just imagine it, living 70, 80, maybe even 90 or a 100 years! How many months, days, hours. How many moments worth never forgetting…

And of course, I’m saying this, with my 19 years. Not very much yet. I feel as if I’m at the beginning of a very long, beautiful, marvelous road. Or maybe better said, that my life is as a book, and I’m only yet at the very first pages (although pages very well filled, as in my 19 years of life I have already lived and seen a great deal).

I’m looking forwards to living. I’m looking forwards to experiencing all the experiences possible. My soul is curious. In part of the experiences I will live individually, but in part also for the experiences I will live by the side of the ones I love. I know I will live good and bad experiences, and I’ve decided to no longer fear the possible bad experiences. I know that some will certainly come, because life is not only made up from good moments. But I’ve lived enough of them to know how valuable the lessons are learnt from them.

I wish to live. And I wish that, for the ones I love, they will have a long, happy life. I know everyone wishes that…but nevertheless that is one of my deepest wishes. A long happy life to all. As long, of course, as that is what they desire. ..

I wish that one day I will find myself in the high mountains, on a bright spring day being outside, watching life reappear, walking side by side to the one I love, both slowed a little by old age. I wish to see the wrinkles of joy on his face, and feel as safe as I have ever felt in his embrace, and talk about our long life together. I wish to then think back at my life and know I have lived at the fullest, that I have been true to my ideals and that I have tried my very best to spread joy and happiness and peace through the world.

I’m not planning on going from this world before I have done all that I have proposed myself to do. I’m ambitious. And considering the great amount of things I want to do, I suppose I will have a pretty long life if I even want to do half of it ;)

I now value life, and also my life more than ever. Because of all that I have lived through. I now value it more, because I see clearly how fragile it is, concerning death, and what a miracle it is concerning birth. Life is truly something amazing, and maybe it would be nice to stop once in a while with what you’re doing and be grateful for your own life and that of your loved ones. We take life too much for granted.

A bit of a mix of thoughts today, I know, but there is so much I’d like to express but so little time (yes, I’ve got to go and study now instead of writing nice texts haha)

A Universe of love /Un Universo de amor

I have a whole lifetime before me. And surely I will write many great, beautiful, true texts. I don’t really doubt about that. It seems like I have been blessed by the capacity of writing (not at high level, but good enough for people to like it).

But I doubt that even in a whole lifetime, with all the thousands of attempts I will have to write, I will be able to achieve to express all the love I feel in me, all the love I feel for the person I love most in this world. Because it has so many different aspects, so many different parts... This love is something so great I am unable to understand it with my physical mind. Once I start meditating about it, more and more ideas come to me, and how deeper I go in the mysterious, beautiful world of love the more amazed I become, because it seems infinite, a entire Universe of love. Infinite, and almost a spiritual road through life. I think that, by loving truly, the spirit is, without doubt, happy.

Maybe you might think “oh, this girl is madly in love, all happy hormones and biochemicals rushing to her mind” Well, let me say this to you: I don’t love madly, I love Deeply. Deep as the ocean, deep as the earth itself. My nature is to love, and to give all of me. I don’t love madly, I’m not someone who “happens to fall in love”, and falls out of love after a short time. No, once I love someone, once I choose to love someone, it’s for life. I say choose, because somehow it was never something that overcame me, starting to love. It was like a desire made long ago by my soul and that at the right moment and the right time became fulfilled. I don’t know how to explain all of this…it is all so abstract and pretty far away from the typical “falling in love stories” I hear from others.

All I know is that, no matter how much I will write, never will all the words of the world be enough to express all my love. It’s something much more than just a physical experience. To me it’s more an experience of the soul than anything else. And with this I’m not just referring to the love I feel for this one person, but also the love I feel for the ones I care about, for the nature, and for the beauty of this world. Basically, this is about the love I feel for the entire Universe.

P.S. The photo's I made yesterday. They don't really have very much to do with the text of today, apart from reflecting the beauty I see in the world :)

Tengo toda una vida delante de mí. Y seguramente que escribiré muchas, verdaderas y hermosos textos. No me cabe duda.

Part of all, never alone / Parte del todo, nunca sola

Gracias :D

The following is a text I wrote long ago, on the 28 of July. But I want to put this text here, as there are some ideas I would like to share with you

Today, on top of the mountain, we stopped a moment to contemplate the beauty of nature in the hours of sunset and feel the atmosphere of calm and harmony that radiated Earth.

And suddenly there came to my mind, an idea of how much gratitude I feel. For being in this wonderful place, with two people with whom I share many ideas and I have many things in common and with whom I feel like who I truly am. For still being in this world, for never have given up completely and for always have had people who loved me and helped. For living in this world at this time, for having the opportunities to learn and live. I felt gratitude for all, for all that is expressible through words, and for all the infinite things for which I will never be able to find the words.
I felt infinite gratitude, my whole being was filled with it. And I felt in total harmony with it all, feeling the universal energy filling me with energy and joy and love.
And the I knew: I Am. I exist. I am energy. I am part of the universe. I am a both a unique being as well as part of the whole.
Part of all, never alone.
It was as if I remembered a great truth, that made me open my eyes and made me see everything, “the bigger picture"
I miss words, so many words to describe that experience, but honestly, it's been an experience of the soul truly amazing

 Thanks :D

You're free / Eres libre =)

You're free.
Free to be your authentic self.
Free to love.
Free to forgive.
Free to begin your life's journey.
You may feel hopeless and defeated, imprisoned by the obstacles in your path, but your prison's walls are not impenetrable.
The only limitations on you are those you've placed on yourself.
Your potential is limitless.
The challenges you face and the pain you feel doesn't exist to imprison you; it exists to provide growth and healing.
To move you forward.
When we struggle, our soul speaks.
Whether it screams, "I'm angry" or "I feel taken advantage of".
Whether it whispers, "I'm lonely" or "I'm scared",
Your soul is trying to send you a message.
Listen.
Allow your chains to be broken.
Embrace the song of your soul.
Hold onto the lessons of your struggles.
Let in the light.
You are free.
Now and forever
.

Eres libre.

Escucha.
Permita que tus cadenas se rompan.
Disfrute de la canción de tu alma.
Aférrate a las lecciones de tus luchas.
Dejar entrar la luz.
Eres libre.
Ahora y siempre.
